Some Benefits of Organic Food

Ask yourself this, would you rather eat a fresh organic apple that was grown without chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or preservatives? Or would you like to eat an apple that has absorbed an unknown cocktail of chemical fertilizers and pesticides and is coated with preservatives to make it look pretty?
Well I know what my answer is and that’s almost enough to justify spending a little bit more for your organic food. If that’s not enough to sway your decision, then check out these frightening statistics.
A recent study said that organic produce may contain 10-50% more phytonutrients that regular produce. Lycopene that is found in tomatoes is an example of phytonutrients.
Some say that eating organic foods helped to cure their cancer. This may seem a little far-fetched but at the same time makes quite a bit of sense.
Many of the EPA-approved chemical pesticides were registered before there was a connection to these chemicals with cancer and other diseases. Not only that, organic food has been shown to contain higher levels of cancer fighting antioxidants.
The evidence saying that organic food is more beneficial than conventionally grown food is growing, but we can make our own judgments based on the facts.
Organic food is grown in a way that is healthy for the environment as well as our bodies. In the long run, the benefits of organic food out weigh the risks involved in eating conventionally grown food.
