More Ways to Help the Environment
When it comes to finding ways to help the environment, way to go green is determined to find ideas that will fit into your everyday life. Everyone has their differences but one thing we all do have in common, is that we all produce trash. And lots of it! Finding ways to keep less of your trash in landfills is very important. Read on because these are great ways to help the environment.
In Ireland, people are actually charged for the amount of garbage they produce. This was put into place to encourage people to be more conscious of recycling and even composting. Some companies here in the U.S. are taking this approach to trash removal as well. Customers pay a fee per bag of trash they get rid of.
Composting has been around for many years and it is a great way to help reduce the amount of trash you produce. There are machines you can buy that are installed right into your kitchen. They take your compostable materials such as fruit/vegetable waste, stale bread, coffee grounds/tea bags, egg shells and so much more and compost it into rich soil.
Take the old fashioned route and build a compost bin in your yard. You can put all of the above into it plus grass clippings, leaves, old newspapers, and the list goes on and on. You have to mix it up occasionally to help it break down faster. You can also buy worms that aid in your composting efforts as well.
Way to go green will be posting a list of compostable materials so be on the look out for that and start your own compost bin. It helps cut down how much of your waste ends up in landfills, it provides you with rich soil, and it’s a fantastic way to help the environment.

Some Ways to Help the Environment
There are so many ways to help the environment. For those of us in winter climates, heating bills can be a great source of stress on our minds, our bank accounts, as well as the environment. Read on for some ideas or ways to help the environment.
Drafts can increase your heating bill because they allow cold air in, in turn making your furnace work harder to maintain that comfortable temperature. Drafts typically come in through doors that aren’t properly closing and windows that may have a bad seal. To help with this problem, start by going around door and window frames to feel for the cold air. Use plastic to cover windows and doors as well if they’re not used regularly. Rolling up a towel and placing it at the bottom of the door may help to catch drafts.
Another way to help with the heating bill is to consume less fuel. What does this mean? Turn the heat down a few degrees and put on extra layers. Thermal underwear is not just to wear when going outside into the cold. You can easily wear a pair of thermal underwear under your jeans and you’d be surprised how warm you’ll be.
When it comes to finding ways to help the environment, the answers can be very simple. We need to use our common sense and rely less on things that are convenient. Turning up the thermostat is convenient, so instead work a little harder when getting dressed to put on an extra layer. Check back with us to find more ways to help the environment.
