Go Green Tips For Everyone
Everyone talks about going green, but very few people really know what to do to make this a
reality. Even with all the television commercials, not everyone knows how to get started in their
move to go green. The thing is that it doesn’t take a lot to make a difference in the world. Here
are a few Go Green Tips that will help you get started.
1.) Reuse your glass jars and plastic bottles. Glass jars can be used for a hundred different things.
If you, or someone you know, works out in the garage, these can be a valuable asset. They can
hold a million things such as nails, washers, tiny parts that tend to get lost. It all depends on what
you’re working on, as to what you store in them. Best of all, you can always see what’s inside
before opening the lid. Plastic water bottles can be reused again and again. If you do a lot of
camping, fill them about half full of water and freeze. When you pack your cooler, throw a
couple in to keep your food cold, and as they begin to melt, you’ve got a bottle of cold water.
2.) Make your own household cleaners. Basic products such as baking soda and corn starch
make some of the best cleaners. Baking soda works wonders on carpet and counter top stains,
kills odors in your refrigerator and in bathroom drains, and will brighten your clothes when added
to the laundry. Best of all, it won’t hurt the ground water.
3.) Seal up any leaks around your doors and windows. A tube of calking costs only pennies on
the dollars, compared to the amount of money going out through these leaks. Also, check around
electrical sockets, faucets, and even along baseboards. These are a few other places where air can
escape. By fixing these leaky areas, you can save hundreds of dollars in energy bills.
You don’t have to move mountains in order to live a greener life. These few simple Go Green
Tips will save both the environment and your money. Just because you live green, doesn’t mean
you have to spend green.
