Homemade cleaning products are an excellent way to go green. Typical household cleaners may be releasing harmful chemicals into the air we breathe everyday. With these helpful recipes, you’ll have your own homemade cleaning products in no time.

For a spray and brush toilet cleaner, you’ll need each of the following ingredients:
1 tablespoon lemon essential oil
1 teaspoon lime essential oil
4 tablespoons alcohol (ethyl or isopropyl)
2 tablespoons liquid soap
1 ½ cups eucalyptus vinegar extraction
1-2 tablespoons plain or herbal ammonia

In a glass dish, add the essential oils to the alcohol. Pour this mixture into a spray bottle. Add the herbal vinegar, liquid soap, and herbal ammonia to the bottle. Shake well before each use. Spray surfaces of the toilet bowl, brush to clean, then rinse.

To clean your windows and mirrors try this simple mixture:
3 cups water
¼ cup plus 1-2 tablespoons of herbal vinegar, strained

Pour both ingredients into a spray bottle. Shake well before each use. Spray windows or mirror and then wipe clean with a clean, dry cloth. To help keep bugs from hanging out in your windows, try adding a few drops of tansy, wormwood, or yarrow essential oils.
