Video Example of a Small Scale Solar Power System

Update: As of Monday May 11th, this system is on sale at Harbor Freight for $199.  This is about the lowest cost per watt that I have been able to locate.  This system is enough for some emergency 12 volt power and if you installed multiple systems you could power your whole house.  Here is a link to the sale price, http://tinyurl.com/pnjcgy (not an affiliate link.)

Sure this is not going to provide all the power for your home but it is a start and is a good example of they type of equipment you will need to start making your own solar power.

This video is an example of what is needed for a small solar power system and how it works. This 50 watt system would be enough to operate a few emergency lights and a low power requirement radio.  Give the guy credit, at least he is trying.
