Advantages of using Home Made Power and How to make it
Home Made Power
If you are living in a remote area where you are not able to use power from the national grid, the best thing is to generate your own power. There are quite a few methods for you to generate your own power such as the use of wind turbines, solar cells and the use of bio gas units. Out of all these methods the most hassle free and environmental friendly method is to use the solar power to produce your own home made power.
Huge Profits From Growing Your Own Microgarden
Microgardening
Yes, it’s true; you are planning on microgardening and thinking about digging outside in the dirt and watching little seeds grow seems like a long process. And of course, it involves thinking about investing money and resources into something that may never grow. Still, it’s important to learn the best way to grow your own garden. That’s what the tips below are for.
Home Made Power – Solar Power and Wind Power
Home Made Power
By using home made power you will stop the ever increasing monthly payment to the power company. How many times have you looked at your energy bill and shaken your head in amazement? Will it ever stop? Can’t I catch a break?
Every household is spending a considerable amount of money to pay electricity bills each and every month. Though you take an effort to bring the bills down as much as possible by switching off non essential electrical appliances that consume power, you will never be able to save by a useful margin.
Renewable Energy: A World Review
Renewable energy is so named because it is derived from such natural raw materials which do not get exhausted; for instance, sunlight, air, rain water, tides and geothermal energy. Renewable energy consumed in 2008 was around 19%.
New renewables such as modern biomass, small hydro etc. delivered around 3% energy. The most leading is the wind energy having a growth rate over 30%. Its worldwide installed capacity has reached 160 GW. Photovoltaic installation based on solar energy has reached 21%. California has taken a leading role in tapping geothermal energy with rated capacity of 750MW. Brazil produces ethanol from sugar cane, which accounts for 18% of automotive fuel for the country.
Is Fracking with Propane a Good Option?
Natural gas fracking using enormous quantities of water scares the hell out of most home owners that live in an area where this process is used to extract gas out of the Marcellus Shale rock.
Now there is a method being used called Propane Fracking that just might be an acceptable procedure for both parties in this argument. The propane is what is used to expand the gas pockets and it ultimately is reclaimed with the natural gas.
Newest Green Engine to Deliver 100 MPG Gas or Diesel Cars – Bill Gates is Major Investor
All new design of a Two Cylinder opposed more efficient engine, designed by former Volkswagen executive. This is coming soon to the automobile industry and not soon enough for our fuel consuming readers.
Bill Gates and other investors have just added a much needed boost to bring this engine dubbed the OPOCTM (Opposed Piston Opposed Cylinder) in to production. According to a CruchBase article regarding the $23.5 Million invested by Gates and Khosla Ventures it appears as though we will be seeing this predicted 100 MPG engine in production.
You No Longer Need to Become a Nerd to Learn How Wind Energy Works
Wind is the result of the uneven heating of the Earth by the sun and the fact that temperatures will always be trying to reach an equilibrium (heat is always moving to a cooler area). With the rising price of energy and the damage to the environment from fossil fuels, it is more and more equitable to harvest this renewable resource.
The benefits of wind energy are that it is virtually free (once you purchase the equipment) and there’s no pollution. The disadvantages include the fact that it isn’t a consistent source (the speed varies and many times it is insufficient to make electricity) and it typically requires about one acre of land.
The Oil Well Disaster, Stop it, Please Stop it…
So sad. How can we get the best brains in the world to work on this and stop the damn oil from gushing out into the ocean?
Seems to me that as bad as it is now, it will only be worse until it stops. Then the nightmare of what to do with the oil and how to cope.
Looking around the web we find some other well written articles about the oil leak and want to share them with you.

China Using Solar Thermal Power
It seems the Chinese are more than just talk. The Chinese Government made a big thing about Earth Hour a few days ago, but before that they were already planning on moving into green renewable power as a source for their growing industrial power needs.
In the year 2010, China plans to bring online a 1.5 megawatt solar thermal power station. This will be capable of supplying the power needs of over 30,000 homes. The cost of this plant is to be approximately 100 million yuan. The power plants will cover an area of approximately 13 hectares. The funding for this project is from the Ministry of Science, the city of Beijing and the China Academy of Science.
An American Hybrid Pickup Truck
Many Americans like myself, prefer a pickup truck to a car for driving and hauling purposes. With most Americans thinking fuel economy and using green thinking I thought for sure a hybrid pickup truck would be easy to find.
I found 2 models right away, both from GM and both full size. The Chevy Silverado and the GMC Sierra are large and dependable pickup trucks. The improved fuel mileage and reduced emissions is good but I prefer a truck that is a little smaller.

Off the Grid: Never Paid an Electric Company Bill – Not Ever!
A wind power and a solar power love story.
These are my friends, Mart and Cappy. They built this lovely log cabin home by hand on top of a mountain in Upstate New York about ten years ago. They have never been hooked up to the power grid, not ever, and have never paid an electric company power bill.

Mart and Cappy
Was it easy to do? Well relatively so. Has it saved them a ton of money? Well not sure exactly, but might be near the break even point. Those are some of the types of questions that I asked late this past summer the day I visited and took these photos.
Green Cleaning Products: Non Toxic Cleaner
When it comes to green cleaning products you obviously want a non toxic cleaner for your home. Some of the green cleaners are easy to make with ingredients you probably already have on hand. Just a few basic items are all you need to clean safely and completely. You can even make flea powder for your pets in a natural way.
Vinegar is a neutralizer. If you want to maintain the color of your clothing, add some vinegar to the wash water to set the dye. With the addition of some lemon juice you have a powerful acid to dissolve hard water stains, tarnish, grimey build up and dull surfaces on wood.
Green Carpet Cleaning Chemical
Carpet cleaning chemical has always carried with it the thoughts of harsh dangerous ingredients. In today’s world this has changed. There is a demand for cleaning products that do not pollute the environment and many in the industry have addressed this.

Most companies are using the word GREEN to emphasize how their product is safe for the environment. The hottest topic is Greening your business, or the use of Some Green Products is common in advertisement but are they really green or good for the environment?
Protecting the Environment
We must all be protecting the environment. It is man who threatens the existence of the planet and it is man who must repair the damage he created.
There is an iconic scene from the Emmy Award winning television drama Mad Men. Set in the early 1960s, advertising executive Don Draper and his family are enjoying a family picnic in a city park.
How things have changed since then! When the Drapers are ready to leave the park, Betty picks up the red and white tablecloth, and fans all the paper plates, plastic forks and spoons and napkins all over the grass and leaves them there as the family gets up and walks to the parked car.
Safe Cleaning Products: Items from the Pantry
People want safe cleaning products and they ask us all the time for some recommendations. You’ll see they save money in addition to saving the environment. All you need are a few basic items which are probably already in your pantry.
First, get a box of biodegradable Borax. This product is billed as a laundry booster, but without phosphates or chlorine, it is a safe household cleanser when diluted with water.
Borax can also be used as a pot scrubber. Sprinkle some in the pan, wait a few minutes and then clean with a damp sponge and some muscle.
The Difference between Ecology and the Environment
People think ecology and the environment are the same thing. They aren’t, but with all the emphasis on saving our planet it is easy to see how these terms can get mixed up.
First of all, ecology is the relationship of animals and plants to their surroundings which includes carbon dioxide, light and heat and the sustenance that comes from the atmosphere. Another kind of surrounding is biological and this includes the study of the same animal or plant in context with other animals and plants.
Natural Homemade Soap from Around the World
There are a wide variety of natural homemade soaps available on the market place. It all depends on what specific part of the world you are in for what is available. Each part of the world has its own different supply of raw materials. This accounts for the difference in the recipes.
The most unique soap I found marketed was the soap of Jesus. This is a Christian soap that only uses the ingredients found during the life and time of Jesus. The claim is that the recipes are based on homeopathic formulas that not only clean your body but also uplift and inspire your delicate soul.
Three Types of Solar Cells
In the market place today there are three basic types of solar cells. Solar cells are more commonly referred to as photovoltaic modules. The three basic modules are single crystal silicon, polycrystalline silicon and thin film.
Single crystal silicon was first created by accident in Bell laboratories in 1954. An experiment using semiconductors had a silicone doped with impurities which showed a sensitivity to light that was greater than ever seen before with other materials.
